Dear APPC Friends,
My wife, Lisa, and I enjoyed meeting so many of you during the conference in Brisbane. We return to our home in Tennessee inspired by the workshops and recitals. The best part of the whole experience was meeting some really wonderful people!
I promised to send a musical example or two that would encapsulate some of the material covered in my two presentations: “Lessons with Friedrich (Burgmüller, that is…)” and “Lessons with Dmitry (Kabalevsky, that is…)”.
The guiding principle in both of these presentations was using repertoire as a springboard for composition. I hope the attached musical samples will help get you started.

P.S. A very special “thank you” to Hal Leonard Australia for sponsoring my visit!
